Hello. My name is ________ and I am a Virginia resident [in Congressman Boucher's district].
I'm calling because I am deeply upset that Congressman Boucher is leading the effort to weaken the "American Clean Energy Security Act."
Taking bold action on climate change will create jobs, boost the economy and protect future generations from the impacts of global warming. Now is the time to strengthen the bill, not weaken it.
I am especially concerned by Congressman Boucher's efforts to give free handouts to the biggest polluters. Giving away free permits would result in massive profits for polluters and hurt working families like mine.
As a Virginia resident, I am calling to insist that the Congressman put the interests of working families and the planet first and stop weakening a critical piece of legislation.
