Stop Cove Point Rally in Baltimore
When: Thursday, 20 February 2014, 12:00 - 1:30
Where: Meet at War Memorial Plaza, corner of N Gay St & E Fayette St, Baltimore, MD 21202
On Thursday, February 20th, hundreds of people -- from the fracking fields of Pennsylvania to the Western mountains of Maryland to the DC suburbs and the Eastern Shore -- will hold one of the largest environmental rallies ever organized in downtown Baltimore to draw a region-wide line in the sand against Cove Point.
February 20th is a crucial date to get loud: That's when the Maryland Public Service Commission will begin reviewing an essential permit that Dominion needs to build its $3.8 billion fracked gas export facility on the Chesapeake Bay. As our experts testify inside -- in the same building housing Governor O'Malley's Baltimore offices -- we'll rally and march outside to show that people across our region want clean energy and safe communities, not a mega-export facility for dirty fracked gas!
