Baltimore's Town Hall Meeting:
Global Warming, Clean Cars and Energy Independence
Wednesday, November 29th
6:30pm
Join us at this large community gathering of local residents and elected officials as we learn about the potential human health, environmental and economic impacts of Global Warming. Expert speakers will discuss these impacts and one of the regional solutions: the Maryland Clean Cars Bill.
This past year, we passed the Healthy Air Act, the strongest statewide clean air bill in the country!! Now our goal is to adopt the California Clean Car Standards. Your attendance at this event will send a strong message to our recently elected State Legislators that we want them to pass the Clean Cars Bill this Spring 2007.
Spread the word to your friends, neighbors, schools, faith communities, local businesses, community organizations, and more.
Guest Speakers Include:
Mike Tidwell, Founder & Director of CCAN, and author of the book
Ravaging Tide, who will talk about the state of Global Warming today and
what we need to do about it here in Maryland
Cindy Parker, MD, MPH, Professor at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health,
who will discuss how Global warming will affect our health
Brad Heavner, State Director of Environment Maryland, who will tell us how 11
other states around the country passed the Clean Cars Bill, and how we can
get it passed here in Maryland to reduce our carbon emissions.
State Delegates and Senators will also be speaking. We will then have a very engaged discussion between our audience, speakers, and politicians.
