carrotmob – a new way of organizing

Check out this awesome video from Carrotmob, a group who’s starting up a new way of organizing to promote clean energy in business practices. Basically, what they do is organize consumers to make purchases that give financial rewards to those companies who agree to make environmentally friendly choices. It’s the anti-boycott: using the power of spending to promote an idea. What do you think?

Will you protest when you’re freezing to death in winter due to lack of energy supplies? Will you rebel when you are starving due to lack of new oil supplies need to plant and harvest food? Have you ever personally farmed or harvested your food?
Fools.

A good idea! Everybody! Use the space you do have to grow at Least some of your own food. A tray p1anter can grow green onions, carrots, radishes, 1ettuce, etc. If you have a suburban home , you CAN raise a couple of chickens. Food you raise yourse1f tastes better!
Thanks Common Sense.

Interesting the video and corrotmob wasn’t/isn’t about protest, just using a “carrot” rather than a stick to bring about good change. The action shown here would help to insure there is little more energy available by using less, in a painless manner. In this day in age there shouldn’t be any reason for anyone to freeze or starve. The statement quote is only fear mongering.

Okay, so what business is CCAN going to organize support for in order that they can save money?
MD Energy Admin has a new efficiency program and goals for saving electricity. Can we get them to help organize carrot mobs? (or at least provide the technical assistance or financing to implement the changes)?
