This is the latest in the fight of the citizens of Surry County and broader Hampton Roads against what could be the largest coal-fired power plant Virginia has ever seen. Please share this event with others, and invite friends, family and co-workers.

The Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) and their few (but locally powerful) allies in Surry County tried to ram this through the local zoning process in 2010, trying hard to provide as little information as possible about the project. But now the locals have won a recent court battle and the town is now required to hold the hearings again. Unfortunately ODEC and the town are still trying to push this through on a swift timeline and, despite repeated requests for critical information on the placement of pipelines, railways, and other project specifics, they will try to re-approve zoning with these critical details left out.

Please come to the hearing and have your voice heard. This dirty polluting coal plant proposal is a threat to the health of all of Hampton Roads and ODEC has shown themselves to be anything but a good and transparent corporate neighbor.
