Anne Havemann, Communications Director for CCAN, grew up in Washington, DC where she received her bilingual diploma from the Washington International School in 2000. Prior to joining CCAN, Anne was an Internet Organizer for Greenpeace USA where she worked on their summer 2005 global warming campaign. She loves to write and spent much of her time at Greenpeace writing op-eds and letters to the editor. Before Greenpeace, Anne worked at the Jane Goodall Institute in Berkeley, CA.

Anne graduated from Colorado College in 2004 with a B.A. in environmental science. During college she received the Howard Hughes grant to spend a summer as a research assistant at the Catamount Institute’s Biological Field Station. She spent the summer camping in the mountains surrounding Pike's Peak and studying the effects of forest thinning on upper montane forest ecosystems. She also spent a semester studying in Mali where she interned at the National Center for Solar and Renewable Energy. In Mali she became fascinated by the potential of renewable energy to improve people’s lives. She brought that passion back to school and spent her senior year as the environmental researcher for the U.S. Senate campaign of candidate Mike Miles.
